What Are Kybella® Injections?

Kybella is the first FDA-approved (2015) injectable product for the reduction of fat. Presently, it is approved for the reduction of submental fat/double chin. Kybella injections consist of deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring chemical in the body, which is used to reduce fat stores. With the injection of small amounts of Kybella, the treated fat cells will be destroyed permanently over the course of three to four weeks. Kybella injections are typically repeated two to three times to obtain the optimal result.
